About Matt Hague Agri-Business

Matt Hague

After gaining an Honours Degree in Crop Production Science in 1987 I joined ADAS as an Arable Agronomist, achieving BASIS accreditation in Crop Protection and FACTS, and a client portfolio of over 15,000 acres.  I went on to progress into business consultancy and farm management in the commercial and educational sectors, eventually leading to the establishment of my own consultancy business in January 2020.

Overseeing the management of college farms in Northamptonshire and Cheshire provided valuable experience in the challenges of hands-on farm management in dairy, beef, sheep, pigs and crop production systems.  Earlier experience includes time at the world-renowned research institute - Rothamsted Research at Harpenden, working for Velcourts in Pershore, working on a mixed farm estate at Alnwick and a mixed family farm near Huntingdon, as well as experience on fruit and vegetable farms in Israel.

As an Agri-Business Consultant I specialise in business appraisals and financial planning, diversification and grant schemes, planning appraisals, contract farming agreements, BPS, Countryside Stewardship, crop rotations, soil structure surveys and integrated farm management (BASIS/LEAF Certificate in IFM)

Management and consultancy expertise alongside reputable industry qualifications, demonstrate a breadth of professional credentials that few agricultural consultants possess, and serve as the backbone to the delivery of quality business and health & safety services to farmer clients across East Anglia and the Midlands.
